Anthony Hordern's tree is located at the Razorback lookout. Anthony Hordern and his family owned the largest department store in Sydney, which was originally established in 1823. A huge six storey building was opened by them in 1905, called The Palace Emporium. It was controversially demolished in the early 1980s for the infamous 'World Square' development, which remained a hole in the ground for nearly twenty years, before finally being completed in 2004. The crest on the Hordern coat of arms was a budding tree, the motto: "while I live I grow". Mysteriously, the tree on the Hordern family's estate at Camden, upon which idea of the crest was based, died soon after the Palace Emporium store was sold and then closed in about 1970. A new tree was subsequently replanted at the lookout site.
