About the dash...yes it does with very little difficulty surprisingly. A few have done the conversation - one forum member as recently as last year.

Do a search within this forum and you should find the thread on the subject with pix. MX5 Mania did the convertion.

Dash and hardtop question.

With regards to the "Frankenstein bolt lock plate" (known as a Latch Plate - Part # NA01-R1-863 in the parts guide), I have read that some people have "recycled" these by removing them, flipping them over and reinserting. Apparently they seem to wear on one side and you can get double use out of them (I haven't actually tried this but it sounds logical and could be worth a try).

I bought the rubbers for my hardtop recently (assuming you mean the ones that sit between the body and hardtop latch that sits over the frankenstein bolt) from MX5Mania. Paid $14 each - when you order you have to tell them which side you want as there is a left hand and right hand side version.

If you do this conversion, you'll also have to change your centre console to an NB one, as the NB dash won't line up with the original console.

It's a big job to remove the dashboard of any modern car, so make sure that if you are doing this yourself, you allow a full weekend of work to do it.
