Hi Jaron:
With the ADR approved braided brake lines they are amazing. Cold, they don't feel anything special at all, but warmed up well worth the money.

Update: Braided brake lines in, ADR approved. Castrol dot4 superedge brake fluid oil done.
Rollbar padding bought, cut and fitted. Bump stops replaced much better ride, the old ones were like mush. Still looking for a NB8a master cylinder brace, but not willing to pay $140 for one advertised in parts for sale section. Bought master cylinder brace that had been on an Na looked like it would fit, but it didn't.
Retune as car was running rich. Very happy with the result made 186 kw at 12.5 psi but car didn't like it. Methinks injector size would need increasing to handle that power figure comfortably.
Settled, on 176kw atw on 12.5 psi and 365Nm torque at 4500 revs, nice improvement on previous figures of 168kw at 12 psi and similar torque at 5200 revs. The car is an absolute blast to drive now. Put it in 2nd gear on high boost and put your foot down and it absolutely slams you back against the seat.
Those guys running 180kw atw plus, I can only imagine what sort of animals they must be.
On the lookout for some lightweight 15 inch rims and a set of R888's.
Future mods oil cooler and a sparco seat and a G-tech pro.

Bypass coolant reroute, by Danny Irvine. Car runs so much cooler. Very impressed.
Waterpump changed. Gates racing timebelt done by Danny.
Turbo shielded and insulated by shop behind mx5 plus.
Torsen 3:9 diff price was fitted by Mx5 plus.Guru was a lot dearer.
Rear deck lid painted grace green by Crawfords crash repairs.
Magnaflow 2.5 inch cat back exhaust system.
Retune 168.2kw atw, 370Nm of torque.
Future mods strengthen the engine, up boost to 14lbs and probably fit a few gauges, air/fuel etc.
Going to fit some better speakers than the crappy mazda ones.

What is this "bypass coolant reroute" you speak of ? got any pics?
What sort of temps does the car get up to with turbo kit on ?

Nice ride, keep up the good work :)

Hi:
The bypass coolant reroute was done by Danny Irvine. Get in conact with one of the forum sponsors Richard at Mx5plus, he can give you danny's details. Haven't measured any temperatures before and after the coolant reroute, under the bonnet. I, do know that very rarely goes past the quarter mark now on the temperature gauge, even when flogging the car to within an inch of its life.
After fitting turbo I think heat generated destroyed two air conditioning hoses plus one other hose.
Now no such problems tho I have insulated a lot of hoses close to the turbo.
Sorry, don't have any pics.

New seat Sparco Sprint V, installed temperature gauge. Tune unlocked and retuned. Seat belt adjusted to fit through sparco sprint.
New tune best I have had. Gobs of torque, nice power curve. One happy customer. Work done by western suburbs mechanics sinnamon park.

Ron, I'm constantly in awe! I think you'd find my car very pedestrian at this point - probably like hopping into a Barina in comparison!

I, wouldn't call your car pedestrian at all. Mine is certainly pushing the boundaries with current power output, 383 Newton metres at 5400rpm.
At least your car gets out and about. Mine probably gets out 1-2 days a fortnight.

Just an update, oil cooler and oil coller relocation kit fitted.

Turbo beanie.

A few power mods, retune next week.

Expect at least an increase of 10-15kw atw, over 400NM torque.

Holding out for an improved way of getting direct airflow to oil cooler.

Dump pipe with collector now in, ceramic coated inside and out. Dump pipe by custom exhaust morayfield.

Dyno time 1.5hrs, same boost, same timing, same tuner. Power gain just under 17kw atw, torque gain 37 newton metres.

Was hoping for 400 Nm, but suprized with 416 Nm. It now feels quicker than my old 180SX that put out 200kw atw.

Don't think car spools up any earlier as predicted. Comes on strong at 3000 rpm like before, but with more urgency.

I heard that Gerald got 20kw atw from his dump pipe according to Rhys at Mx5 plus, after tuning. Not sure if Gerald had his ceramic

coated, but for an extra $200 I think the ceramic coating was worth its money.

Not sure what type or who made same, but would thoroughly recommend Custom Exhaust at Morayfield.

Bonus is my car now idles better also.

Changes : Standard cams back in , standard timing. Retune this week as stock cams raise compression.

Tighe cams sort of had gouges in them. In no way did it effect performance though. Could have left them in as gary stewart reckoned they were not that bad.

Anyway its nice to have a stock idle. Downside less power up top. To drive it feels no different though I am sure after retune its

not going to put out the power figure it did before :(( Will post up new figures with standard cams for comparison, once retune completed.
