Just a couple of quick things.

Installed a decent alarm with a bunch of sensors. One of them seems to pick up wind. Need to adjust it back a bit.

Found the limit of grip yesterday. Taking a ~110 right degree hander I planted it and felt the rubber give as I've already felt it a few times but this time I kept the foot down and even accelerated a bit too early. Resulted in a 180 on the other side of the road where there were no cars thank God. You test your limits and sometimes get kicked in the balls. Fair is fair.

Yeah these cars are quite twitchy because of the short wheelbase, probably better to test the limits at the skidpan or track day first :?

C'mon GTO...

Also, nice buy two40 :)

Nice buy indeed!

As for the GTO's, I had one 10 years ago, a 1993 non turbo 4WD - it was a good car, but not a great one. I drove the twin turbo before buying and decided I liked my license the way it was, the twin turbo was flowering quick in a straight line (0-100 in a claimed 5.1 seconds  ).

I can categorcally state that the MX5 is a MUCH better handling, better looking and fun & grin inducing car than the GTO, even though I thought mine was kinda sexy, at the time! (yes that's a kiwi numberplate... I'm all better now!)

Cool dude. My seat took me 1/2 hr to put in, pretty easy. Then I spent 2 hours stuffing around with the seatbelt...

Ajay said it's a bit harder to put in the SE's but not much. I'm using that as an excuse when I need to call you over to help.

Big thanks to broady for helping out today. Made the job a lot easier. :)

Seat went in without any problems. Well, ok I did break one dremel and burned the carpet (not the car carpet) but that's how real mechanics roll.

Now for the harness. I thought I had 6 eye bolts but there's only 4. Shoulder and lap belts are accounted for. Just need to secure the sub belts. I was thinking of putting in a couple more eye bolts because I like the idea of being able to remove it with ease. Might mean I have to plate it at the bottom which isn't a big deal as this will need to be done with the other type of attachments as well. We'll see when the harness comes in I guess.

Thanks for lunch George :)

FYI I've threaded the stock seatbelt through the side holes but not the shoulder holes. See how you go.

I tried both ways. I prefer it like this. It sits closer to the body and the belt doesn't rub on the shoulder support which I imagine over time will tear the fabric.

*sigh* looking at the photos of this car brings up feelings of seeing an ex with their new partner...good to see ur having fun with her haha

New car *was* gonna be a Legnum VR-4, but after finding out they have major issues with busting diffs, and said diff's being rather expensive to replace, I've settled on something more....family oriented :p

PS George have u changed the plates yet?

Hey Pete,

I'm treated her real good. I promise. :D

There's a harness going in this weekend and I have a Track Dog Racing air split to go in as well.

Sorry to hear the VR-4 didn't work out. :|

Still have the plates. I'll get some standard red ones when rego comes up.
