Hey guys, I've been eyeing a set of flat black 16" rb rota wheels for my car. Thing is, I haven't seen any reviews on them and not sure what the build quality is like or if anyone has had them. I want something with the superlite/rs watanabe look in either flat black or black with silver lip, hoping for a decent offset to give that deep dish look.
The only problem I have with the rotas is that the spokes tend to bow out a little instead of straight like the mini superlights and watanabe wheels. I'm short of pictures right now so I hope my brief explanation is enough haha. Anyway, any suggestions would be great if you know of any other type of wheel that would be close to what I'm after (8spoke deep dish mini/watanabe style in 16"s)
My other question is about the splitter type airdam that sits just under the front bar. I know the legit Mazda ones are getting scarce and hard to find and as far as I know they are only manufactured in Canada every x amount of years in short batches. So what I'm asking is if there is s *good* after market knock off that looks the same and easily (relatively) attainable. I know of a garage vary one but it sticks out a little far like an underbite. I'm trying to find one closely modeled off the original. I've seen a few about but usually damaged.. Also PLEASE do not refer me onto MX5 Mania because those prices are crazy!
Thanks guys!

If you dont like MX5mania's price for the front lip why dont you try MX5mart (in New Zealand):
http://www.mx5mart.co.nz/db.cgi?db=mart ... records2=1
$157 + shipping
With regards to your wheel problem; why don't you look around on Yahoo Japan Auctions or something for some watanabe's... You can usually find some pretty good deals on there (however shipping costs are ridiculous). If that fails I would go for some Superlite GTR's (anything other then Rota's ). Alternatively you could have a look at Konig Rewinds... They are probably the best copies of R-Type Watanabe's I have ever seen. However if you want to get them in the low offsets (+0, etc) you will need to get them redrilled as I believe they only come in 114.3 (this shouldn't be a problem as I have seen a few people in America that have gotten Rewinds redrilled).
Hope that helps

Thanks, I've checked them both out. i'm definately not after fibreglass after some of the horror stories I've heard, and that garage vary one I still think juts out a bit too far but the other ones you guys showed look really good. I think I'm going to have to start looking into them as soon as I organise this roll bar

Rspeed OEM NA front lip are good. I got one on my car (as well as the rear).
As for the Rota wheels. Someone once told me..."Friends don't let friends ride on Rota Wheels". 'Nough said.
If you search on this forum, there is a thread with photos on what happens Rota wheels. Specially if you put them on a powerful car.

Those indicators look really nice, and so does the twin headlights.

my guess is with the hazard lights, with either long exposure or shutter timed correctly for the photo

Hey thanks for the heads up, guessing you're from /b/ lol. I'll check out JDMyard asap, there are some things I gotta do first though before I buy that Garage Vary lip. I have my watanabe's being powder coated as I'm typing then I gotta get tyres on them and get rid of my cracked manifold for some genie extractors.
Ugh... I was suppose to have those damend extractors 3 weeks ago but they 'ceased production' a few weeks ago and I have to wait a month or something before they start producing them again.
you say you could hook me up with that garage vary lip though... pm me or something
