NA8 - recommended brake pads?

The brakes on my 1994 MA8 are on their way out, so it's time for new brake pads and new fluid.
My '5 is my daily driver, plus one track day a month.

I figure something close to the stock pads would do, but any suggestions would be great.

I use Hawk HP Plus on my Clubman.

They stop harder and much more fade resistant during Track Days compared to the OEM items. Though sometimes when they are cold, they squeal from time to time.

Hawk HPS will easily do the job for the track and motorkhana type events.
They need a bit more pedal pressure than OEM pads until you feel them bite as they are very progessive.

My other choices were either EBC Green Stuff or Yellow Stuff, or HP Plus but HPS won because they had the most consistent good reviews, and were considerably cheaper and seemed like the best choice for a stree/track car

I have the EBC red stuff, Im really happy with them as a daily driver/ track pad, more bite than oem but needs a little warming up, first red lite you encounter you will come to a "grinding halt" after that it just bites really well.

The thing with Autokhana is you don't really get a chance to warm up your brakes before you use them. Most runs are under 75 seconds so they don't get as hot as consistent braking around a race track.

That's one of my concerns. The other is the run to the office every day is fairly short and stop/start, so while the brakes will be used a bit, they won't warm up much.

Is it worth sticking to OEM pads? Or is there something (like the HPS) that's a little better/bitey-er?

i use ultimates. i despise the excessive brake dust, but my preference is a set of pads that have good bite even when they're dead cold.

I wanted to try ultimates but they dont exist for NB8B.

For low noize low dust good bite when cold can't walk past oem from mx5 parts uk, the ones with the shims and clips etc.
