Indicator/wiper stalk...

Postby Hammer » Sun Jan 24, 2010 8:56 pm

The adjustable intermittent wiper only became part of the MX5 with the NC.

I have an NA8 and NB8B and both have fixed intermittend, normal and fast settings. Plus on my NA8, I can flash my headlights?

Are you saying on your NA, you can't? I thought by law all cars sold in Australia should have this feature - flash headlights.

Is the issue you are referring to where the headlights are coming on but are not popping up, and the battery is draining?

With regards to the question on headlight flashing, it is possible to make a simple mod to enable 'flash to pass'. I would suggest that you don't do this until you have resolved your other issue. I say that because I had the above mentioned issue, but didn't know it at the time. I installed the flash to pass mod. Quite often when using the indicators the head lights would pop up and flash.

Let us know how you go.

My '89 Aust del NA6 didn't have headlight flash off the stalk when headlights were lowered, whereas my late '93 NA8 does, so guess it was intro'd somewhere in between to comply with a then new regulation.
