Does anyone know what the db limit is on our cars. The RTA site basically says no louder than stock but i seem to remember 96db being the limit?
Thanks.

AFAIK 96 in ACT. My dad was pinged not that long ago with a reading of 98 on his bike.

Exhaust db limit?
I think the limit also depends on the age of the car or bike.
I remember getting booked on a club run on the Old pacific Highway, and the cops listening out for the loud bikes.
They pulled a couple over while I was waiting and one especially loud bike wasn't pinged because it was made before the noise regs came into force.
There are also strict regulations regarding the readings taken, like things such as speed and revs, and even what gear you're in when the readings are taken.
There are also exhaust by-passes that can be fitted.
