MG Car Club Hillclimb Come & Try - 6 Mar 10

Postby JBT » Tue Jan 12, 2010 9:29 pm

A Come and Try morning at the MGCCQ hillclimb at Mt Cotton will be held on the morning of Saturday 6th March 2010 before day one of the first round of the Tighe Cams series. If you are interested in registering for this, please contact Richard on 0417 717 627 but please wait after 8:00pm before making the call.

Only 25 road registered cars can be accepted and cars must be dríven to the hillclimb (no trailers).

If you've never done it, here's your chance for a go at one of the wildest kilometres you can drive.

If you want to come for a look, entry is free on 6 & 7 Mar 10. The canteen with cold drinks and hot and cold food will be operating.

Any idea of the cost of entering a car to the hill climb?

Contact Richard as the entry fee for a Come and Try is much less than a normal event. Tighe Cams Series Round 1 entry fees are $90 per for a non-series registered entry and $80 if series registered. Those prices apply to entries received before 18 Feb 10. After that date it's $150. Sup Regs etc. here: http://www.mgccq.org.au/entry.htm

I think I'd be just doing a come and try for my first go. I don't even have semi's atm.

Thanks for the details I'll try to contact him ASAP.

Normal road tyres and a road registered MX-5 will be fine.

Well, the guys were having a great time today.
Few wet laps in the morning made for challenging conditions.
Then changing to dry as the morning went on.
Some very impressive drivers. Fun to watch.
Here are a few pics.

Well done John, great job with the regularity.

Thanks MINX - I had one excellent run but must do better overall. It's still an exciting drive around there. It would be good to see more MX-5s out there.

Love that photo! 8)

I forgot this was one. I have tried many times to attend one of these day. Never do because the organisers never answer their phones and never return your messages. I'll keep trying.

Anything you need is on the MGCCQ website.

* The information (Supp Regs and entry forms) will always be here:http://www.mgccq.org.au/entry.htm
* All the contact details for all the Committee and organisers are here:http://www.mgccq.org.au/committee.htm
* The calendar can be found by clicking on the "calendar" link here:http://www.mgccq.org.au/index.html

Supp Regs for Round 2 (17-18 April 2010) of the Tighe Cams Series will be out in a couple of weeks. I'll put a notice on this forum. I'd like to see more MX-5s out there. 3 to 4 run at the moment and one of those is dual entered. You can also run in regularity (I do now) if you want to stay away from the temptation of trying for a blistering time but still want to be competitive.
