I'll probably go whether it rains or not if other people are up for it. going to lunch near gosford anyway, might as well take the long way around.

I am not a meteorologist and the weather forecast for tomorrow probably means afternoon rain or thunderstorms but that is an experienced uneducated guess due to high temperature forecast, high UV, afternoon southerly change moving up the coast and what has been forecast over recent days. I plan to be at McGrath's Hill by 6.00 am ready to go and to meet up with one or two friends for the run. When I last drove past the roadhouse site the apron was fenced off and there might not be any accessible parking at the site. If you can't stop at the old road house site then that is not a problem. Even the most navigationally impaired driver cannot get lost on the Putty Road that does not have any substantial turn offs before the Hunter Valley. Regrouping at Milbrodale in the open area a short distance past the Putty Road for 5 minutes is a minimal requirement.

If everybody zeros there odometer at McDonalds and remembers that the right turn to Broke, off the Putty Road, onto Mibrodale Road is sign posted at 150 kilometres (plus or minus a kilometre or two depending on your car's set up) then nobody should get lost. The short 12 kilometre drive from Milbrodale to Broke is across open farmland and as with the Putty Road their are no substantial intersections on the run down to Wollombi or across to Pokolbin if that is Sliq's breakfast destination. Caution is necessary as the road leading down to Wollombi when it leaves the farms heads into wooded hills, the sealed road narrows to a tight two car width and goes through sections thick close bush with twisty bits followed by a narrow bridge and 500 metres of dirt just outside of town.

Without setting any land speed records everyone should get to a breakfast between 2.45 to 3.15 hours from the time you leave McDonalds subject to traffic and time put aside for regrouping. A drive from Wollombi or Pokolbin to the Pie in the Sky takes about an hour.

If you are one of the people new to a run then see my attached links to Run Rules and an Incident Sheet used by the MX5 Club NSW to give you a few tips on etiquette and everyone's safety on the road:-

Ahh, last time I led I crashed into a baby kangaroo.

Yeha its near impossible to get lost on putty rd, Unless you spin out and cant remember which way to go, then again u can use the sun....

Most the the road is boring high speed straights, but a few sections are twisty and fun, then the epic section toward the end. Just go you own pace, and if the people in front happen to break away then just meet them at the meeting points.

I just bought a new tomtom so I'll try and put the whole run in, if mum lets me borrow it.

Stupid freaking tomtom, Its taking me hours and I still cant program the route it properly, keeps wanting to go to singleton. Maybe should have got a different sat nav, the route maker online doesn't even have all australian roads just major ones, so disappointed. And it wont stop freaking double clicking, and viewing maps is slow. grrrr

See you all tomorrow morning.

Just click on this link and on the top right click on Send. Select GPS and then select Tom Tom from the menu. Will do some black magic I can't explain after this and you're done. :)

Ya, I'll be there with acidkid and a mate of mine rain or shine.

Yea, last time we did it in the wet we turned back out of boredom :? probably didn't help that there was only a total of 2 cars. That was of course back when I actually drove my car.
