Nice exhaust Broady!

hehe, they arrive in Feb thanks to Dan (rupewrecht)

Ahh yeah, I should really get onto that. Bad thing is, I realised the other day that there's a chunk missing as well. Nothing a bit of bog can't fix I guess... Is yours broken in the same way?

Hehe, I had to jump on the bandwagon after hearing Sze's videos. :D

oshi- phil, nice!

Yeah sliq headers are on the cards... though I might wait until I can afford (read: after international exchange) to spend the 1k or so for m-silent ones.

I just rang Autobody Plastic Welding in Brookvale (9905 3748) and I'm going to take my lip down to them next Saturday (they close at 1) to get a proper inspection and quote.

He said that there's two types of polyurethane, one that can be welded, and one that they can repair through other means.

Shankyou sliq.

So, some developments today. This morning I headed down to Brookvale to see what some folks could do with my broken lip.

The first place I went to wanted $220 to fix it, so I said f$*k that and looked up another plastic welder in the area. it's going to cost $120 and he'll spray it satin black as well! he suggested another $160 to paint it glossy black (I saw his work with a motorbike fairing that was drying out, it looked *amazing*) but really that'd just be a waste since it's just a lip.

Went and blew my load on some Meguiars stuff at Supercheap (excuse the iPhone qualiteh):

Just realised that I'll have Australia day off so if I'm not beside a BBQ I'll be buffing my car!

haha, I already gave him mine. I think he'll do a light sand maybe. It was definitely a bonus piece of work and he made it clear that it wasn't going to be a perfect job. But probably better than what I can do with a spray can anyway.

So, pretty eventful day today...

Picked up a beautiful Nardi wheel off tofuboy. Don't have the hardware to mount it yet, nor a horn button, but have the boss kit which needs installing.

Also... hooray, finally got my lip repaired. Took it down to Spence at APWR (All Plastic Welding Repairs, Chard Rd, Brookvale). He's a legend and does awesome work. He mostly deals with bike stuff and had lots of newly painted fairings in his workshop.

Evidently the plastic used in the GV lip wasn't the one he expected, but one that requires heat of over 1000 degrees. I think I was damn lucky to get the work done at the price he charged. Paint wasn't included in the quote but he sprayed it with a coat of black for me anyway

Installed... please excuse the massively dirty car... it was dirty before the putty run but now it's just filthy on a whole new level:

So, I spent about 6 hours cleaning, polishing and waxing my car yesterday. I'm still really unhappy with the paintwork (there are so many scratches, especially on the bonnet) - I think the previous owners were tards. Also there are a huge amount of stone chips, due to the high number of country km's from the first owner.

Still to go is a good clean of the soft top (and window), the glass and the interior. Got some interior and exterior rainx which should alleviate my fog issues.

Anyway, the colour in the paint came out fantastic - I really love this first shot:
