No idea. I am led to believe that both fans are not always on and to do so would require engine management system to set parameters as to when and at what temperature both fans engage.

Cheers Novice1

Normally the air cond fan will only run when the air cond is on. It is possible to run both fans in parallel. I have done this on my NA.

Ron, it sounds like you weren't able to resolve that locked ECU issue you had late last year?

Car is back. One new radiator cap, 1.3bar one. Boy am I a happy camper. Car goes in next wednesday to have ? autometer temperature gauge fitted, retune and not locked. Bonus is tuner is near to where I work and I won't be hijacked into using a particular tuner. They will have the car for 10 days as I am off to new zealand. Tuner reckons he can make my car much more driveable, meaning he reckons it runs like a dog:) Car is going to have haltech set parameters so that both fans come on at a particular temperature.
Who the hell would have thought that such an innocous thing as a radiator cap could cause so much grief.

You might not be able to get a group buy one in time but you might get one from Ocean at Chikara in the US or direct from Saiji at Maruha motors in Japan sent in time.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Pffft... they don't need 10 days to tune your car right.
Have you not seen what happened in Ferris Bueller's Day Off? :P

I have some space at my house that is just right for a grace green turbo MX-5

Though your altruism moves me Andrew, I cannot remember seeing any space last time I looked in your garage.

By the way is their a run up glorious tonight?

The temp gauge I am getting fitted is $250 installed. At this point in time I just don't care if there is anything cheaper, better, stronger ...whatever. If, I lose a few dollars I lose a few dollars.

Novice1, Its not cheaper to go this way its to monitor the water flow coming out of the engine after the thermostat so you know when or does your thermostat work...

Its a neater way than cutting the radiator hose which would do the same thing or getting tapping it into the stock sensor (not sure if it is possible)
