Decals
I'd like to put some crossed gold laurel branch decals, just in front of the power bulge on my NA8 LE's bonnet, wrapping around the lower 1/3 of the bulge. I think it'll look great against the BRG duco. But I can't find anything remotely like it, on any decal making site I've been to. I could design my own. But I'm crap at drawing. So I'd prefer to find something that's been professionally done. If I can't find anything, I might go with crossed checkered flags, also in gold. But I'd prefer to stick to my original idea. Can anyone help?

There are a few people on here who can help.
This epic thread springs to mind immediately:

Just do a drawing, regardless of how crap you think it is, or find a similar photo on the interwebs and send Andrew a PM.

This might suit you, without the Scala logo on it.

Thanks everyone. I've ordered these crossed checkered flags in metallic gold (30cm x 8cm)
It was on'y $12, delivered. So I'll see how I like it when it arrives. & if I haven't found anything better, by the time I renovate the bonnet (1 small dent to fix & a good buffing). I'll use it.

My checkered flag decal arrived from Stickerart.com. Only 2 days after they emailed that it was shipped too. It's a little smaller than I wanted it, but I still like it. Seeing as it's only $12 I decided to fit it to my unrestored bonnet. I might even get a slightly bigger one when I get that dent taken out. & I might get this size again (or slightly smaller) for the centre of my speed-deck (reversed, of course), when it gets sprayed BRG.
What do you guys think?
PS I'd like to get a transfer of my rego plate, to fit between the bottom of the flags & the Mazda logo. I think it would be easy to get one made. But does anyone know if they're still legal (in Qld particularly)? Or have they been banned coz speed/red-light cameras can't read them?

Re the number plates, illegal. I know quite a few people who have stickers for a front plate though, and I haven't heard of anyone being booked for it I guess if they're a very good match to the real thing in style and size, and you're not otherwise attracting attention, you'd probably get away with it for a long time...

Yeah. I was trying to avoid the superchicken look, which is why I didn't want it too big.
From a distance it looks a little bit like the car's got a jaunty French moustache, which looks particularly comical with the lights up (but my twin headlamp kit should fix that). But the main difference it makes to the look of the car, is that it breaks up the slope of the bonnet. &, from a distance, gives the car the illusion of having a taller frontal area. So it doesn't look like a MX5 at all. I'm considering experimenting with other designs (& placements) to see what looks best.

Personally, I think the flags would look better in silver, rather than gold, and should be mounted a little more towards the front of the car.

hi all,
i'm not looking at putting decals on my car, rather, removing them from my wheels.
would it be best to have them professionally removed? or just use a heat gun/hair dryer, remove them and use some eucalypt oil to remove the stickiness?
thanks
