Finally got round to making my heatshield to go over the extractors. Hopefully it will lower the temps under the bonnet. I'll put up another pic when it goes on the car.
I used a sheet of this stuff to make it: http://www.aclperformance.com.au/prod_heatshield.htm

looks good
great product; cheap, easy to form, light but strong, works.
You can touch it after only a few minutes after a spirited drive.

Ross, where'd you get the stuff? Supercheap? And how much did it cost?

I got it from Supercheap, $50. I used just over half the sheet but you could get 2 out of a sheet if you made it a tad smaller.
It will be bolted onto the 2 existing holes just under the cam cover at the front of the motor, I hope it doesn't vibrate around too much.
I won't have any pics until I get back in about a week or so.

I use the same stuff as the heat shield for my turbo and dump pipe. I haven't had any hoses or plastic melt on the cold side of the shield yet, so perhaps it works afterall.....

Regards Repco, shop around between the Repco stores as some of their prices vary markedly (eg. one store quoted $180 for a muffler, the second store $250!)
