Removing Seats with speakers in the headrests

Postby danman » Fri Jan 08, 2010 7:01 pm

Just started removing varous interior compenents of the NA8 with the intention of cleaning and lightening. I've just found that the seat has speakers in teh headrests (Rockford Fosgates). Are speakers in teh headrests a standard feature of NA8? And if so is there a connection somewhere that allows you to remove them easily.

If they are aftermarket I assume that I'll need to cut and reterminate.

Cheers

The wires run under the seat in my NA6, wire cutters made short work of them :)

If it's still OEM wiring, there should be a plug under each seat. Will be stupidly obvious once you get the seat out. However, since they're aftermarket speakers they may have just been hard wired in. In that case just cut them and be done with it.

I know headrest speakers came standard in some of the higher trim levels for the NA6. I can only assume the same happened for the NA8.

Yeah no plug under the seat. Looks like they've been hardwired in. Oh well nothing a few connectors can't fix.
