Has anybody tried these camber arms

Postby oldrevhead » Wed Dec 30, 2009 2:08 pm

Hi Guys Has anybody else tried these camber arms sold on ebay.I did, and found the arms to be very good and well made but the spherical bearings used are Chinese and odd size to boot mostly 14mm.The bearings can be moved sideways with say a screwdriver but they wont move in ther direction needed when fitted to the car, except for creeking and groaning as you go over a bump.I have tried soaking them in CRC,still so tight its unbelievable, the seller thinks they are ok and because he can move the ball sideways, thinks theres no problem, but i know the bearings are crap.I will look at fitting nolathanes now as nobody lists any to suit.
I would be interested if anybody else has had this problem.cheers oldrevhead

There is a new forumite (several months ago) who's mate bought a set for his Silvia or Skyline and IIRC he stated that one (or both) snapped after a few corners on their local track.
It may be fine day to day normal driving, but please be careful when you start to push the envelope.

I have read about these arms hitting the subframe or chassis when you have a low ride height, basically results in them bending and snapping eventually - CHECK IT OUT http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=342639

there are some thoughts here too - http://mx5cartalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=35984&start=0&hilit=camber+arms

I was looking at them, but decided to not bother.
