No Affiliation with seller but he mentions that these are the same as the Mx5 6 speed with a suitable bell housing. Can the bell housings be changed over to an Mx one? Has anyone done this conversion or is it possible?
Thanks

6 Speed Lexus IS200 into an Mx5??
I have heard that the IS200 gearbox is essentially the same as the MX5 one but I've never seen anyone actually do it and I can't for the life of me remember where I heard that. Therefore take this with a grain of salt.

The internals are the same (Aisin?) but I think that's about it...

Thanks for the feedback, looked like a nice conversion if it was easy to do but i dont think it is, not for me anyways.
Got a reply from the ebay guy: I'm not entirely sure about just the bell housing because the mx5 has the power plant frame between the gearbox and the differential so for a mx5 you would have to have the rear extension/shifter housing too.

Matty is on the ball as usual.
Same (similar) internals, different case.
