The recommended tyre size for my SE are 205/40/17. Can I fit 215/40/17, this might just leave enough rubber to guard the mags from the curb.

Cheers,
David

I'm running 215 rear and 205 front. No issues whatsoever.

Hi David,
Yes, I find 215/40/17 perfect. (std wheels and suspension)
No rubbing or problems.
It also fixes the speedo error. Spot on.

Is it best to run 205 front and 215 rear? I was thinking of going 215 front and back so I can rotate. Any problems with this idea?

Thanks for the feedback guys, next tyres will be 215/40/17. Any suggestion on brand? would like a good all round tyre, good grip, good mileage and as quiet as possible, don't want much hah.

Cheers and Happy New Year,

David

Lots of threads and COWs on what type of tyre.
Best to use the search function and have a read through those.
Lots of variables - $ / Driving Style/ DD or track or both / Mileage you expect etc etc etc

Also, if you update your sig showing your location, you might find some one near you to help.

George - I used to run 215 all round, and used to get a bit of a rubbing noise when on full lock, hence the 205s on the front when u bought it...having said that, it still made that noise...

Ahh I see. Thanks. I've not noticed it tbh. I've always been scared of the power steering noises when on full lock.

I'll check it out though.
