MAF relocation and associated additional wiring question

Postby Steampunk » Wed Dec 23, 2009 11:52 am

For those who have relocated their MAF and thus needed to add additional length of wire; what issues, if any, have you had with this?
In other words, would the additional length of wire change the voltage/impedance that the EMS sees, thusly affecting fueling/ignition?

I have done this and there have been nil issues at all. But this is on the stock 1.8 computer though I cannot see any length changes making a negligible difference.
Err on the side of too much wire so you can tuck it away neatly and use heatshrink to cover up the soldered joints (you ARE going to solder it?? :P ).
Then wrap the whole thing in spiral wrap to make it look neat.
Hope this helps.....

But of course.
Self Vulcanizing tape is the logical choice Jim.
It works wonders on my eyebrows and is less painful than plucking.
