Just wondering if anyone knows an easy way to separate the eyeballs parts to make it easy to replace the sponge material.

I had a good try at doing just that, gave up when it was clear I was going to break them before I got them apart.

Ended up using a citrus based label remover spray, letting it soak for a few minutes, pulling the old foam out with tweezers, and then washing the vents in dishwashing liquid.

The eyeballs can be taken apart without damaging them.
Its a fair time since I repaired mine but the front ring is clipped onto the base, use a small screw driver to lever the front off then the eyeball falls out. The old felt can be removed and replaced and then clip the front back on 8)

I tried a variety of small screwdriver, and each was more damaging to the clips than the last!
