These guys retrimmed my leather MOMO a couple of years back - they do do a great job. And you can mail the wheel to them and have it back in less than a week.

Recover a leather bound steering wheel ?
These guys did the leather in my car. I read a thread on a detailing forum recently where they sent a steering wheel to them for rejuvenation as well:

I wonder what the cost would be?
I would rather wait and bit and find a second hand one in better condition.

The cost? I paid $140 a few years back for custom hand done baseball stitching and two types of leather + suede in my choice of design.

hmm $140, thats cheap, i've been quoted over $350 to redo the leather on my steering wheel and for that money you can buy some very nice new ones.

these guys were very helpful ---quoted $160 , BUT only if the current leather can be peeled off the wheel without removing the sponge layer that is applied to the steel rim of the wheel . It seems that MoMo sometimes put glue on the sponge in manufacture which sticks the leather to the sponge . If this was done then its impossible to remove the leather without damaging the sponge and then they cant recover the wheel at all. If you want to try it you need to remove a section of the leather while its still on the car . If the section comes off the area where the stitching is and where the spokes join the rim and the sponge remains in tact, then they can recover the whole wheel in about 2 weeks . The guy was very helpful . The other suggested place was Blackmans who quoted $380.

This is what ATUC did with mine......
From this
to this.....
I think they actually might have covered over some of the leather, but the wheel feels great in the hand, even still after a few years. My only recommendation would be don't go with suede - it fades and wears much more than the leather.

Remove the airbag, then send them the wheel, then when the wheel comes back, re-fit the airbag and Bob's your uncle!

Make sure you disconnect the battery before doing anything with airbags.

Recover a leather bound steering wheel ?
sorry nube questions
there was an SE stearing wheel on e bay with the red stiching I like; but the air bag was missing.... anyone transplanted one of these to their NB8B??
I would have thought the air bag can still be deployed without the battery???
