Do your new bushes squeak?
I know from reading previous posts that a lot of suspension bushes have been replaced in the past few years. What I'm looking for is the best approach to stop squeaks. Juffa used marine grease a few years ago and others have used special grease. Who can recommend a grease that has remained squeak free? Also is it between the bush and wishbone that there is movement or the steel insert and bush. Methinks it is between the steel insert and bush as one option seems to be to put grease nipples in and regularly grease right thru to the insert. Has anyone done this or is it overkill? If it was between the bush and wishbone them soapy water on installation would not lubricate. Also when installing bushes do you have the insert in place or squeeze it in afterwards? Be interested to here comments.

I replaced bushes around a year ago with SuperPro ones. Since going in one of them clunks a bit, I've looked all over the car and also had the MX5 factory guys look over the car and we agree it is a bush. I used the supplied grease when I fitted the bushes, maybe I did not use enough. When I can be bothered I going to strip it down re lube and maybe add a grease nipple.
I'm currently replacing bushes on a second car using the Energy Suspension bushes from 949 racing. This time I'm adding some grease nipples, again I'm using the supplied grease. Maybe it is overkill to add the grease nipples but the car is a bit of a hobby so I don't mind spending the time doing it. There are some instructions here.

I'm finding the Energy Suspension bushes easier to fit as they are a two piece design.

Thanks for that info fattima...it answers a few questions including that the bush obviously does not move in relation to the wishbone. So that means I have to get the grease between the sleeve and bush. No wonder they squeak as there aint no room for grease! I read somewhere that with one piece ones, the trick is to put grease nipples in and cut a spiral from the hole so the grease can get around the sleeve.

Mine (superpro) squelched for a few weeks after install, I guess as the (supplied) grease was squished around. It stopped after a while and they have been quiet ever since (except I replaced a damaged wishbone 2 weeks ago and reinstalled the superpro bushes, which are now making noise again, I expect it to go away soon)

I have the same super pros as caffeine. I can't hear mine squeek. Probably because everything else is too noisy.
