Russell's 93 Clubman Rebuild

Postby Russellb » Sat Nov 14, 2009 4:07 pm

As many of you would know
My Clubman got stolen from out the front of my house in April

I got it back . The engine was flocked and the gearbox was not the best

Anyway Insurance said it was a total loss so I bought the car back ( after all it is RED:) )

after get it back I Fitted a Fancy Pants alarm and a hard top plus a 2nd hand engine
and drove it till late september (the rego ran out then )

In this time i build the Origanal engine ( i wanted the engine Number )
into a fire breathing Dragon . Custom turbo cams , over sized valves ported polished with Hbeam rods Fully balanced Using Hypertec pistons and a custom turbo manifold
3" dump pipe and 3" high flow cat 2 3" resornators to fit beforethe diff and 2 1/2" muffler and tail pipe
All in stainless steel.
Up the front it was decided to fit NB A/C compressor and Condensor along with the 600 X 300 intercooler,
a 19 row oil cooler and an after turbo water cooler .

As the car was apart The engine bay was resprayed and all the interior was striped and cleaned .
and as the interior was apart the stero wiring was redone to keep it away from the heat in the Transmition tunnel .
all this started at the begining of November and the following site shows the progress so far

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

What a weekend
Finished my exhaust and got it all bolted back on,fitted the front brakes and
got the car of the hoist and on its wheels again
Fitted my new soft top, fitted up the doors and frogarm braces, sorted out the central locking problems
and wired up the amps and speekers.
it was here i found out that my 4 CH AMP is flocked and i need a new one :(
I also removed the dash cluster and replaced the oil pressure gauge ( was reading half with the iggntion on)
I also found out that the A/C button turns on the compressor ( I think i wired somthing wrong)
and the best bit of all

ITS ALIVE :)
