Power steering pump overhaul - Calling Matty

Postby ampz » Thu Nov 12, 2009 10:38 am

The power steering pump on Nessy has started leaking :(
Matty from memory you said, this came out of an NA8?

Just need to know so I can order the right P/s rebuild kit.

A couple of pics to show the leak (it has started to drip onto the a/c compressor).

Also the only leak on the steering rack is coming from the big ass nut on the bottom (only one drop), from the looks of it it is silicone gasket (silastic) based. Would fixing that just be a matter of more silastic or would there be a crush washer inside?

I've rebuilt p/s pumps before (easy peasy) but only have rebuilt worm and ball racks, not rack and pinion ones.

I just need to know the year that this came from so I can get the right pump seals.
Cheers
