NC Beatrush Harness bar

Postby Sailor » Thu Oct 29, 2009 10:15 pm

Wondering how many of you NC drivers would be interested in one of these
http://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Pe ... 0028B.html

Bar has tapped holes both sides for installation of harness eyebolts and after CB took me around Wakefield last month, I realised just how much I missed being strapped tight into the seat.
Have spoken to Brian Goodwin re a discount on the purchase of a number of these.
Probably looking at 4 to 5 to still stay under the $1000 duty limit which will also save on shipping costs.

I'll be waiting till the dollar makes a little more on the US$ before I place an order. and can give a close to firm price.
Not looking to make anything out of this, just save a few bucks on shipping.

PM me if interested.
Rob

NC Beatrush Harness bar

I wonder how strong it is, looks awfully flimsy in the photograph.

Seems to me that there is nothing to really stop a major deflection of the bar, if you hit something solid.

I would dearly love a harness in the NC, but not at the expense of my face on the dashboard.

Certainly won't be worse than a lapsash If indeed you do hit something.

Here's a better photo

NC Beatrush Harness bar

Still looks flimsy and seems it would only suit people with no legs. My seat is right back so it would be hard up against the bar anyway.

Good point JBT!

This will obviously not suit tall or straight arm drivers.
I'm average height and have my seat back about 70mm forward from the top of the bulkhead
A quick look at the pic sees the bar high and back against the roll bar cover.
I have about 80mm clearance at that height which should easily accommodate a 40mm bar with clearance.
afa flimsy...well I guess that depends upon you.
The bar may deflect in a big accident as it pulls the seatbelt mounts together....I'll replace the car after that!
