Mohair or Vinyl Roof?

Postby MX5CHIC » Wed Oct 14, 2009 12:00 pm

These tops from Daveshouze are manufactured by KEE Auto Tops ( http://www.keeautotop.com/index.html ), prior to buying my top I got a price directly from KEE Auto Tops and the cost was almost $800 + Delivery + Rain Rail + Cables ....... Have no idea how they get the tops for resale on EBay for such a bargain price, and no; they are not factory seconds.
The other option is to pay top price for a two piece top from elsewhere and you will avoid the windblocker issue.

Daveshouze (ebay site) was offline for a while but is up and running again, they answered every question I had, very clearly and promptly.

As for fitting your new top ...... well thats another topic  I did it myself, took around 8 hours.

Mine was Prestige Autotrim but you should stop being lazy and try some research. You'll probably be paying plenty for mx5parts but then you do have a new job as a poo analyser so you can afford it

Ben, how are you finding the Prestige Autotrim roof? I've been thinking of getting one of them from ebay because they seem a lot cheaper than anything local. Of course, being ebay I'm a bit wary of the quality.

The quality was really good for both installation and wear over time. The only issue I had was that when the roof was down one of the support arms was rubbing the fabric due to the fabrics thickness. That was soon sorted by putting a bigger stopper in place of the factory one. Happy sailing after that

Wun, stop being a tight ass and buy one full price. Surely you make enough money analysing poo to be able to afford it

Why do you need samples? You have seen my mohair roof, you have seen Ryans Stayfast? Sunfast? roof and vinyl is vinyl. Unless you want to get funky with the colour

I think he just likes being as difficult as possible, any normal person would have a new roof on their car by now.

Stop thinking soo much Wun and just do it!!!

Ask em if the mohair comes from the male or female goat? It makes a difference...
