Electrics not working after started

Postby fung9420 » Wed Oct 28, 2009 10:36 pm

Some electrics not working after the car been started up.
However, it's not 100% of times, but around 90%.
if i wanna wind up or down the windows, i have to do it before started.
Or i have to stop the engine and turn the ignition to Acc.

Other than that, the car drives fine.

Has anyone had the same problem?

Thanks
Vincent

The NB 2000 wiring diagrams shows the same Ignition switch contact provides power in the RUN position to the Power Windows, Defogger, Air Conditioner and Wiper/ Washers.

If all of these are non-functional at the same time when the Windows fail to operate it indicates that the IGN key assembly is the likely cause. Try jiggling the key to prove.

Note the Power Windows should not work in the ACC position, just in RUN

Other members may be able to offer advise on replacing / fixing the IGN Key contacts as I have never had it apart.

I had to replace the ignition switch on our NB after about 5 years.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
