NC seat belt warning beep

Postby aza5c » Wed Oct 28, 2009 9:42 am

I've found threads referring to NA and NB owners unplugging wires and plugs to stop the incessant warning beeps and chimes in their cars, does anyone know how to turn off/stop the seat belt warning beep in an NC? It only activates over about 10-15 klm/hr and as I carry stuff on the passenger seat that weighs more than 5kgs (which seems to be the threshold) the beep goes off and it drives me up the wall! I'm concerned that unplugging wires or plugs etc may affect the seat bolster airbag functionality.
Any help will be appreciated.
***edit : any other suggestions apart from 'doing up the seatbelt' will be appreciated!

why do you NOT want to wear your seatbelt?

He is wearing his but since there is weight on the passenger seat the beeping goes off as the car thinks there is a passenger without a seatbelt on. It's been mentioned before on this forum, IIRC then one milk container in the passenger seat is enough to set it off.

Also if the sensor is anything like the NB then it's not so much the clipping that stops the beeping, it stops after a certain amount of seat belt has been given out from the reel, it doesn't need to be clipped.

In the NB you can stop it by undoing a plug under the steering column, unsure of how to do it in an NC though.

aah, well, in the NC, as long as the belt is clipped in, the alarm will stop. :)
