Installing a new gear knob?

Hey guys i checked out some pics of the voodoo gear knobs. dont really rate them :cry:

maybe i need to see one in the flesh. Im thinking bout getting the tt shifter that mania has for sale. Has anyone seen or installed them on their cars? wat do u reckon?

What style of gearknobs do you like?

Voodoo are nice and cheap, I prefer round as it's easier to grab a hold of, instead of taller style (similar to oem), which requires pulling/pushing/palming the knob.

Voodoo are slightly big for some, I would prefer an ARC one cause it's slightly smaller than voodoo, but not enough $$$.

You do realise that you don't have to buy a gearknob from a specialist MX-5 shop?
Anything with a 10x1.25 thread pattern will fit

Avoid those universal knobs with grub screws. They work well for a couple of months and then fall to pieces.

Something else to keep in mind when purchasing a gear knob for a MX-5. To help keep the smooth changes that the 5 is known for, make sure the new knob is solid, and heavy. You will see what I mean if you remove the OEM knob and compare the weight to other types.

Just my 2.2c worth (gst included).
