It's almost like a small supercharger; Costs a bunch and requires careful retuning. One plus is, aside from initial retuning (assuming you invest properly) there isn't the big increase in engine stress and maintenance.
The biggest long term problem is, you walk around with a stiffy whenever the thing is running.

it's true, nothing sounds quite like 'quads'
I drove an Altezza with quads not long ago. That's a 'Lexus' IS200 with the 'blacktop' BEAMS 3SGE 4 cylinder under the bonnet. I giggled uncontrollably every time i stepped on the loud pedal. It was all shades of Jeckyll and Hyde as you climbed through the revs. Fantastic stuff.
This is without doubt one of my fave ITB videos. And a great car to boot
