Mohair or Vinyl Roof?
Can anyone tell me whats the pros and cons of the Mohair and Vinyl roof
and what you reckon i should go for
atm I'm not sure which to go with
Vinyl = cheaper
Mohair = an extra 100 pounds or ~$190

Mohair hands down. Looks better, insulates better, and lasts longer.

I replaced my original vinyl top with a Sonnedecke Canvas top - far better than the vinyl, Mohair is a little thicker than my Canvas top.
If you plan on keeping your car for a while then go for it

Just wondering how the mohair versions handled all that dust. I had had to scrub the vinyl to get it out and its still not clean. Dont know whether the mohair would take kindly to that kind of scrubbing.
NB SE, NA 1.8.

That would be interesting.
A simple wash of the roof did nothing for removing that dust. You really have to scrub away hard at it to dislodge the dust and even then, my roof is still not back to how it was before!

Mohair is far better, hense why you see luxury cars with that and not vinyl. As for cleaning, my one was a breeze and never needed any attention to keep it looking clean. Just a sponge down and chamois dry. Having said that though, I don't know what it would like like after that dust storm. It can take just as much scrubbing as vinyl

What actually is the mohair used? Is it a synthetic version of mohair goat hair?
