The first Mod was made this week.
In the interests of driver comfort on the longer more boring type drives I replaced the original head unit with an ipod ready Alpine unit this week.
search by song, album, artist or playlist. Nice and simple to use which is a major plus to an older techno numpty like me
10,000 songs now fit in the console.
No more C.D.s rattling around in the glove box or trying to find the one I want on the go.
Next mod on the list.
Been toying with a few ideas for a D.I.Y. Air Intake this week. Does anyone no where I can source Carbon Fibre Tube approx 65mm ID in Melbourne?
Also has anyone relocated the power steering fluid resevoir?
Cheers,
Keith.

Hi Keith, thats a great looking head unit! Have you upgraded the speakers yet?
Are you going to do the hole in the firewall style CAI? Aren't there other good options for nb's which mean you wont have to drill a hole?

Thanks Garry thats exactly what I was thinking. I take it they use the existing hole just behind the head light to draw air into the Air box. I was thinking that if I relocated the resevoir and the 2 relays, I would then be able to build a box over this hole and then run a straight pipe to a single 90 degree bend at the throttle body. The reason for the Carbon Fibre tube is purely because it looks so damn sexy .
Hey Ben, how are you mate. Thank You, yes I quite like the look of the new unit, the Amber coloured display suits the car nicely. I have not worried about new speakers as the original ones do a more than adequate job.
No holes in the Toy. Just looking for a way to utilise the existing hole and to add a bit of bling, a bit of noise and maybe a little performance.
Thanks again folks, I appreciate the interest and information.
Keith.
