Left knee rest

Anyone know where to get some padding for where you put your left knee against the centre console when you're having some fun at roundybouts?
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

but pay a trip to clarke rubber... 8)

should have more than one solution to your problem.

I found this to be somewhat an issue at the track day yesterday...

There are a few "custom" ones on fleabay and Miata specialist shops in the US.
But yeah, just go to Clark and get them to cut to your measurements.

And besides, guess what the footrest under your left foot is for... :wink:

After over 40 years of being a wicket keeper my left knee (and the right one for that matter) is so worn out that I just need some padding there.

PS I've just been out to the car to try resting my left knee against the footrest and I can't see it working out.

After a day's racing or drifting, my left kneee hurts, as does my right shoulder.

I might look into making a left knee rest to save my old knees.............................

I had the sore left knee problem at Wakefield Park days, I find there is a join on the plastic trim at just the wrong place. I rummaged around in the junk at home and found a bit of soft foam rubber about 20mm thick about 100mm square which I wrapped up with black fabric tape and used another couple of bits of fabric tape to temporarily stick it to the transmission tunnel side where my knee thumped into it. It worked a treat and was dead easy to move around to the right spot.
The pain from the MX5 around Wakefiled was nothing compared to the all over pain after the day out my sons gave me for a recent milestone (or should that be tombstone!) birthday present. About 30 laps around the figure 8 circuit at Oran Park in a formula ford was an amazing experience, these little beasties make an MX5 feel like a Mack truck! The pain! The seat was the aluminium sheet floor, the backrest was also aluminium sheet but with a non slip layer of something on it, the only padding was a donut sized lump to stop the helmet whacking the roll over hoop when you hit the gas. The rest of the interior is the steel tubing frame and the tubes and joints seem to be in just the right place to leave an array of nasty bruises. Great fun though, and strongly recommended for those who enjoy fun at the track (definitely preferable to roundabouts!)
