Best place for a respray in canberra

Postby daffyflyer » Wed Sep 02, 2009 4:28 pm

Looking at quotes for getting my MX resprayed - Most likely in Stormy Blue Mica.

Where do you reckon the best place to go in canberra would be?

Im only really willing to spend $3500 -$4500k (not much i know) but plan to take out the taillights, interior, dash, softtop, door cards, indicators, and... i dunno, anything else i don't want painted, basicly will bring them a shell with nothing in it - and any other prep work an idiot like me can get away with doing!

I am dreaming and if not, where should i go?

Go have a chat with Peter at Prestige Automotive in Hume
he painted the Titanium SE and the Grace green NB Both top of the line jobs
He also has my Rally SE to Straighten and will be painting it and My NA
$4000 is pushing it. but if the car is bare and he dosn't have to pull anthing apart then
that will save you money

Change of colour causes complications which means extra cost?

OK, will have a chat to him - $5k would be OK..

I can strip it all, but it does have a few dents to repair, so we shall see..

X2.

Peters a honest bloke with fantastic staff. They take great pride in the work they do. They've done a few things for me and I couldn't be happier.

Jimmy.

Haha yea sorry bout that.....Hows the paint on the front bar holding up? It used to look good, till one day we hit it with a high pressure hose and a giant piece of paint flaked off

Mind you, the dents and ultra extremely dodgy resprayed patch on the passenger side front guard were like that when I bought it - guy I bought it from had a shitload of lawn mowers in his garage, and most of the dents on that car have a partner, about the same distance away from itself as the handles are wide on a lawnmower, if you get what I mean

Yeah, its no worse than it was when I got it.

I did add some dents to the boot... from the INSIDE, with a loose battery :D

It will be nice to have it all undented and dark blue.

With that and the turbo im only $10 - $14k away from my perfect MX5 lol!

I've just had my Liberty in for a bumper and bonnet respray at Canberra Bodyworks. Apparently they have the latest and greatest paint machine in the region.

I'm ecstatic over the results. You can't tell the difference. Even better, the guy pulled out a couple of dents in the fenders and polished my grille and mirrors as part of the repairs! How good is that?!

And to top it off, it was all done on time!
