EOI: GOR Run/ 4kg Burger Challenge. November 7th.

Postby Pamex » Fri Aug 28, 2009 1:49 pm

Howdy folks,

John brought to my attention that there exists a challenge in Victoria... the 4kg burger.

http://www.spec.com.au/index.asp?sp=2&id=10352

Some specs for the tyre kickers:
- 28 cm across
- 1.5kg meat pattie
- 20 rashes of bacon
- 8 eggs
- 9 slices of cheese

Proposed is a very early start GOR run. Haven't been down this far, however looking at the map and looking to do as much of the GOR as possible before the turn off, it looks like the best route will be GOR until Tyrendarra, up to Heywood and then follow the road up to Cavendish, where the Cavendish Cafe is for imminent death.

Bear in mind the last eating challenge was the pounder at McDonald's, which I only just made it through, and apparently looked green afterwards, let alone the next few days. This is just over 8.8 pounds. I need to do some training for this.

So who's up for the GOR run and burger challenge? I'm placing it a couple of months away when the weather is fine and I've increased my stomach capacity mightily.

there is a great burger place in lorne called 'the bottle of milk'... we did a day trip there just for the burgers a couple of months back. not quite 4kg but very tasty! maybe an alternative for those not attempting the challenge?

as am I

I am up for this ever since I saw the article in the herald-sun.
The burger is $38 or so and you get your money back if you eat it in one sitting.
As if that would ever happen!!
