Well I'm caught between getting financed up for an S2 6 spd SE/SP or the supercharged car or similar or buying a cheap NB Series 1 such as the one I've dríven today. Underwhelmed by the lack of immediacy, the steering pulling left, the road noise (wheel bearing?), the lack of ABS, the tickover winding up to 2k when the a/c is switched on, and the pinging. Impressed by the better safety and convenience kit and refinement though and by the fact that it'd effectively cost me the 91 NA plus only $4k.

May have to do the upgrade in stages, e.g; make the NB a bit more interesting with exhaust/CAI etc, run it 6-12 months, then take the deeper plunge when I've built up more of a car fund.

PS If the Clubman on ebay is yours then you can tell how confused I am by the fact that it might have interested me as well if it had power steering and air con. Looks a nice car by the way and well priced.

no the red clubman on ebay isn't mine, but it does look very tidy. when i saw your post about it i thought you might have been in two minds. btw, from the ebay pic of the engine bay i'd say it has no ac.

there certainly are some very cheap NB8As & NB8Bs around - in fact there was a cheap NB8B in BRG in Melbourne recently - i'll see if i can find it again.

I think I have seen this car on a run we had, it had semi slicks on it and it can really go. The sound it makes is insane. Oh and it was the first time I saw a remote for the windows and how handy it could be for putting the roof on etc.

I would much rather this than an SE or SP.

Well I might be a bit nearer to having a cheeky bid at the supercharged one. Certainly I'm looking for a car with FI as soon as I can find a buyer for the silver car. Offers invited .......

UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

good luck - as you might have seen a couple of forum members have bought an SE recently - one for around $19k (rvlovell: viewtopic.php?f=73&t=36777) & the other around $22k (crapweasel: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=36688&start=45), so there's some great value out there.

A small hijack , but does anyone have any more info on the remote for the windows. This would be sooo handy for me.

Any car audio shop should be able to come up with one for you without much effort, provided you have a compatible alarm.

just a little hijack

how is it that the sc can fit a strut tower brace...does the mp62 sit lower thn a jrsc 45?

also re air to water IC...interested in IC but am concerned about throttle responce....that seems to keep the same/similar distance for the air to flow...does that ameliorate the imposition of more throttle lag as distinct from the air to air ICs...does it reduce boost??
