Hi all,
Am hoping for help in performing a little bit of armchair diagnosis on my '99 NB8A. Over the past 2 months the engine has developed a misfire/stutter while accelerating - it lasts for a second then goes back to normal. It might do this 1 out of every 10 15km trips. Also, occasionally the engine is more reluctant to start than other times.
The spark plugs were changed at the 100,000km service approx 7,000km ago. The leads were replaced with OEM ones about 1,000km ago.
Has anyone else experienced these symptoms? Is the coilpack the next thing I should be looking at? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
misfire = possible coil pack failure??

coilpacks, i had a heaps long thread about it.
I changed (in this order) sparkes, leads, didn't fix it, and then it was coilpacks.

The coil packs on NB8A's are shite and expensive. They will ultimately fail. You don't want to change them for the sake of it though. Unless you have a spare $600+ to chuck around.
I hope it's something simple (and cheap!) Good luck.

I also had a stutter develop recently and thought the coilpacks are shot, started to undo things and found some condensate in 2 of the spark plug wells, cleaned and dried water out and she runs fine now.
Sorry can't help you out more but just driving Ando's point home.

Thanks for the replies. I had a service done by Tony at Fulltech on Sat and, naturally, it didn't fault. It's actually been running sweetly all week.
Cheers Matty for the offer!
I might just be in touch if things start to go pearshaped again.

Cheers Matty for the offer!
