Clamps for the side of the hardtop

Postby revitupandride » Tue Aug 11, 2009 5:55 pm

Howdy,
I have the chance to buy a hardtop, but it does not include the side locating clamps.

Are these available? I have found the front ones and frankenstein bolt kits but no side clamps.

Any suggestions

Thanks

D

Whereabouts are you?

click on a few of the forum sponsors with MX5 in their names Plus/Mania/Centre etc., they cater to each state and would probably be your best bet for these

I've got a set of the beatrush one's as it's the only ones that will clear my cage, I just don't have a hardtop yet :) They were just under $200 to my door off ebay. I may not need these depending on how lightyears CF hardtops end up being mounted but that's a little way off. They look like great quality and work the opposite from the OEM ones I think, hinge on car and hook on roof but bolt onto the existing holes.

I'm assuming your talking about the latches attached to the hardtop and not the things they clamp on to mounted on the car. The things attached to the car are available. All the NA's from about 1992 came with them standard. They were optional on NB's

If you are talking about the latches, are the side ones different to the front ones? They look very similar. I'd expect new ones from Mazda would be around the $200 each mark so I'd be looking for used or an aftermarket solution.

The clamps on the actual hard top are usually supplied with the top.
The Striker Plates fitted to the car can be obtained and fitted ( if required) by MX5MANIA at Hornsby (if you live near Sydney), who will give a discount to MX5 Club members.
