What is your BEST Modification?
I love my MX-5 like everyone here but I do like to make improvements when I can, but most of us don't race cars and don't have endless funds to turn our MX-5's into supercars.
So I'd love to hear what modifications provide great improvements for minimal cost - what have you done to your MX-5 that makes you say to yourself ..... "wow what a BIG difference!"
A lot of people here swear that new Sway Bars make an enormous difference to handling, or new Suspension Bushes make all the difference ........
My input ;
SEATS
My NB8A had to have the most uncomforatable seats in any car I have owned, I upgraded to NC Seats and now the car is a pleasure to drive

Voodoo small gear knob.
looks great, and is easier to hold comfortably than the stock knob.

These two have it spot on: the Voodoo Gearknob if your car is manual (i got mine from MX5 Mania) and a proper, full geometry alignment from someone who knows what they are doing (Stu at Spinning Wheel is my wholehearted recommendation). Both cost less than $100, both make the car a whole lot more enjoyable to drive.

Not really cheap, but the single nicest thing ive done would be the tighe 805 cams, its a completely different engine after those!
Would suck without the exhaust and intake though, (gotta have that sound for one thing!)

I'll probably get hated on for this but since my NA is my daily driver, my stereo is my favourite modification. Good quality speakers, small amp and a baby sub have drastically improved the sound in the car. On the daily grind around town it is a godsend.

quoted for truth......on sliq & 16bits behalf
I also feel the LSD was the single best mod so far.....but it it may not have been if it wasn't for all the other suspension/tyre mods I had done before. It made them all work together as one & it felt like it was a different car.

My fav mod so far on my NB8A is fitting a Town & Country (Geelong, Vic) hi-flow exhaust system, includes a stainless cat and stainless muffler. It completely transformed the feel of the engine and is a joy to listen too
