Pirelli P6000 noisy?

Postby philz » Fri Jul 31, 2009 8:42 pm

Well I've got some pirelli p6000, they are fairly old, but when driving I get this humming noise, it sounds like a constant wheel bearing problem or I'm in a fricken aircraft, not just noisy, but really annoying loud.I have read some reviews and they seem to be a noisy tyre?

Has anyone encountered the same problem with these tyres?

if they are old (more than 5 yrs) they are humming because they've gone hard, chuck them to buggery.

Criss cross rotation them and after a few hundred k's they will quiten down, yes they are renown as a noisy tyre, designed as front wheel drive tyre as were the p4000s.

Yeap, mine sounded like stuffed wheel bearings after the tyres wore a bit.

Yep, same here, had them on a Magna and when I took it to the mechanic to have the wheel bearings renewed, he told me to get new tyres first.

Thanks guys, it was good to know it wasn't the new wheels or my wheel bearings sudden failure. :D
