Need some Fitted PP2's have called all my usual contacts and no one has a full set in my size.

Anyone know a place in sydney that I would be able to source these tyres? Also maybe at a decent price? $300 a corner Fitted....dude..

i paid $120 about 9 months ago maybe but that was on a brand new rim without tyres

if you got no tyres on your rim make sure you let them know when you get a quote :)

i got quoted today $140 for a set of RE001 and from another tyre shop the other week same price

Maxxis MAZ1
Z rated Silica compound Directional tyre
205/45/17 $246 fitted and balanced at Jax Sutherland

I've gotten a couple of quotes from the places near to my workplace for 205/45/R16 Michelin PP2's...
Bridgestone - $275/tyre
Beaurepairs - over $360/tyre (I forget how much it was so much more I didn't bother to write it down  )

Seems tyres have gotten a whole lot more expensive in the year since this thread was (mostly) current... should I be looking for a better price than this?

Just bought a set of R888s (205/50) + Lavinhard 15" wheels (wanted a darker wheel than my standard rims)..
the r888s worked out to about $237/- each F&B...

Will go down tomorrow arvo and plonk them on.. hope I can fit my existing shoes in the car. Would hate to have to drive back to Liverpool just to collect them.

Hope I take them out and settle them down before our Tatler run... would hate to lose it on my new super-stickkeh tyres..

Sasso wrote:Type - Toyo R888

Price - 3/5 $225/tyre Good value for what you get but double the price of 14 road tyre. The added safety is worth it, stop and turn in a heartbeat, can dodge everything except baby kangaroos.
Dry grip - 5/5 Insane, very predictable. I have utter confidence that I can go through any corner at any speed I feel like. They can hold up 12psi boost off the line in first gear without slipping (4.3diff too), no wander they use them for drags.
Wet grip - 4/5 Fantastic, these things grip harder bald in the wet than bridgestone GIII's, very impressed, I feel confident going fast even in the wet despite what I've heard about other tyres.
Tyre life - 2/5 They lasted one year, or 8000kms but including 3 track days, although the spin at 180km at EC is what killed them, on the street they don't wear.
Road noise - 1/5 It hums noticably on smooth roads, doesn't bother me, just accelerate out of its resonant speed and the noise disappears.

Additional point, they look awesome, hardcore look with hardly any grooves, awesome tread pattern.

Highly recommended as tyre upgrade even if you don't track, they just don't make this amount of grip in small street tyres.

You can just fit them with the seat in place. Much easier is to remove the passengers seat (4 bolts) and put 3 there, 1 in the boot.

Alex wrote:Told you I was getting tyres lol

Type - Bridgestone Adrenalin RE001
Size - 195/50R15
Price - $113/tyre including balancing and fitting from Hornsby Jobson Disc tyre & Mechanical
Dry grip - seems alright but I've only dríven on them for 15 minutes
Wet grip - no idea but it looks like rain is coming
Tyre life - nothing changed on the drive home, as expected
Road noise - suprisingly low,
General Comments - I was amazed they are alot quieter than my old ones which were firestone on the front and the original Michelin pilot SX's on the rear. The seem to take in alot more smaller bumps that my old tyres but it's the same over the really rough stuff. They also seem wider than my old tyres that were the same size, noticeably extending from the edge of the rim instead of being flush :?

EDIT: Rears lasted 22,000km, should have rotated them but forgot  (also had 1 trackday and 1 skidpan day)

Bit of an update
Dry grip - Better than average when cold, great when warmed up. Over the last few months they seem to be harder to get heat into though (could be my driving).
Wet grip - Acceptable, I didn't have any issues grip seemed fine for the street. BUT if they let go then it's like driving on ice.

Just updated my original post.
I'll probably be going for the RE001's again unless I need all 4 (fronts still have quite a bit left but I've been told edges might be too warn to pass rego). Wondering if the edges on the RE001 are shallower to start with or if I should be running higher pressures / camber (mine were at 30 cold with 1 degree camber)

What a scam!

Drove down to Ozzy Tyres in Lurnea this afternoon, and when i come here (having paid for the wheels & tyres upfront), they tell me they don't have the toyos in stock.

Apparently, the only ones they can get me are the falken rt615s.

Or i'll have to wait for 7 weeks for the toyos.

I asked for my money back and and apparently they may be able to get it next friday.

Obviously i am to drive down to lurnea from willoughby again! Only 1.5 hours in traffic one way!

I'm thinking of telling them to stuff it (although the lavinhards look very nice) and just get the credit card company to stop the transaction.

(pissed off)
