They give discounts if you buy in lots of 4 or 6.

I reckon it looks really good and it seems to fit well into the dash, and having it in the instrument binnacle, it doesn't look as obvious to thieves as some others I've seen.

I was actually going to setup a GB for this agers ago when I saw it

I didn't think people would be interested (I hadn't tried yet)

and plus i didn't have the $$ to get one

but if it ends up being a GB i most likely will be in

4 or 6? you mean 4 or 8 yeah?

5% on qty of 4 - $152
10% on qty of 8 - $144

Standard price on these are $160

I've been meaning to pick one of these up for a while.

I used to think shift lights were a total wank (and they are for a street car) but out on the track, while concentrating on lines, with and helmet on and with others cars around, it can be almost impossible to hear the engine. I know I've smashed the limiter a few times on the track.

I have this on, mounted on dash near my roll cage

On my first track day, coming over the flip flop at Oran park I was concentrating on my lines (flip flop is blind and fast!)
and I hit the limiter in 3rd, and totally put me off my lines and had a scary moment as I lost my concentration!!

Ive got it set at 6600rpm and its the best thing Ive done (well, one of them!)
was under 100 bucks too, and easy to install :)

I'm with you Uncle Authur, it looks nice, but I don't see the point either unless its in a race car.

It's ridiculously easy, the MX5 includes a handy little output in the diagnostics box called 'IGN' which is a PWM signal which varies proportionally with RPM. I think it's also available on the back of the dash panel.

I built a shift light that is the same size and shape as the sun visor attachment, so it sits in the spot where the visor used to attach. I'm currently trying to get a wire down inside the windscreen header to attach it :)

I've got my Shift i in and working.
Looks good when you start the car!

I've got mine set so that the first blue light comes on at 5K, then the last red light comes on at 7K, leaving me another 250 revs to change up.
Seems to work well, and having the first light go off at 5K means the thhing isn't blinking at you all the time when you're on the street.
No need now to look at the tacho when you're pushing on, just go by the lights in your periphery to know when to change up. Gives you more time to take in the scenery! :D

You've obviously have tamed your driving style a little :P
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

It looks exactly the same as the vids on Pootie's first post, except that I've moved mine over to the right a little, so I can see the trip meter.

The brightness also goes down at night, so they won't blind you, yet are very bright in sunlight, so you can see them in the bright sun.
