Hey all,

So as many might know, I recently sold my car. Monty still lives on.. I sold it to someone who has registered on the forums as well, but we'll see how active he is.

After thinking about moving away from a MX5.. I just couldn't do it. As a result, it seemed fitting to name this car Montgomery II (pronounced Montgomery the 2nd), as to me, I've just opened up a new chapter of MX5 ownership.

The car is a 2004 MX5 SE in Sunlight Silver. Has a few basic mods to it to ensure that it is much more fun than from when it left the factory.

Not perfect, but is in good condition and I'm happy with it. There are a few things I will need to touch up to get it to the state I want it in, but will happen over time. I am ultimately broke.

Had my first real drive today...and what a perfect day. Not too cold or hot, beautiful sun. Didn't bother asking anyone to come with me. Not a big drive... from home to MX5mania, picked up a Pearl Voodoo gearknob and then headed through the gorge for a nice drive. The first half was very slow with lots of traffic, but then I stopped off in the middle, took a few quick snaps and then drove on with complete clear road on the other side.

Overall:
    The car is so much more solid than my old Monty;
    The SE feels very tight and sharp through the corners and is still very easy to pull out of corners with;
    Having the power available is exactly what I was missing from my old car; also due to the late onset of full boost you can still use a fair amount of throttle without being too stupid;
    My rear tyres definitely need a change soon due to the camber;
    The SE wheels look great but have so much offset fail that it will need to change at some stage;
    The noise is blissful, even though it is quite loud I just don't get sick of it. Going through tunnels, next to the rocks etc, damn!
    Buying another MX5 was the best decision I made!

The pics are in the original post...I stupidly didn't close the boot properly after taking out the camera, so it looks stupid in some of the photos.

Not a huge fan of 6ULS actually. I think 15s are a bit too small on the SE guards. I was thinking that when I eventually change them (in the very distant future), to keep the 5 spoke design going with some SSR professors or Work Meisters :D. I've recently obtained a couple of Hyper Revs for the car and it was definitely the wrong thing to do, cause all I want to do now is buy buy buy!

But "SE" guards are the same as NB guards... so 15 is more than enough, but each to their own.

there are some 16x7 +26 Meisters on jdmst, perfect for the NB.

Oh.. I was not aware of that. I'm not sure what is a good offset for the NB. I think when it does change, I would like a reasonably flush fit, but nothing sticking out of the guards.
I still think 16s are a good size for this car. But no more wheel talk for now..otherwise I'll go out and buy some and then find myself badly in debt :P

Had no doubt you would end up in a SE once you drove one Chris...well done...have been driving around in my new SE...great car.

Lou, you must be the only person on this forum (probably in aus) to have ever owned the most amount of SE's.
