Advice on NB8B Front Bumper Help!

Postby MX5CHIC » Fri Jul 24, 2009 12:46 pm

I need to make a decision on which Bumper to fit to my NB8A before the end of the month.
My bumper was cracked and dented when some fool reversed into me, because the car is black I want a top class repair so have decided to replace the bumper with a new or perfect condition used one.
My questions ;
Has anyone actually installed a NB8B Bumper to an NB8A?
Are the mounting points the same as an NB8A?
What else needs to be modified or replaced to fit one? (apart from headlamps)

I want to use the fog lamp holes (hole) as an air intake so I won't be looking for foglamps.
Anyone have one for sale? .... Mazda Dealers sell them for $475.

Should I keep the existing NB8A look? ........... your opinion?

My car already has NB8B door trims, centre console, tail lamps, wheels and NC Seats - yes, it has a personality disorder.

you will need NB8B inner wheel trims which will hold the side of the bumper.

Radiator mounts are the same.

I have borrowed a photo from a forum member and photoshoped it - NB8A with NB8B Front bar, fitted with Morette Headlamps ... think I like it.
Apologies to the forum member whose car I have used

Do it!!! Since your car is black, you'll probably won't notice the gap under the headlight.

OK .. all yeas and no nehs - I think it's looking positive for an NB8B Bar. The gap in the corner problem can be solved by modding the headlamp surrounds.

I'll try and find the old thread or take new photos tomorrow.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Hi, I have started a thread on the subject of selling the old parts ... viewtopic.php?f=44&t=37857

The Lip had a 50mm crack in it when I bought it off a damaged car, it was repaired and reinforced from behind with steel then repainted black.
The crack and repair was underneath where you cannot see it anyway but I'm not sure if I will seperate it from the bumper before sale as I will be left with a bumper with holes in it from where the spoiler bolts on ..... and buying lip spoilers for NB8A's is very expensive ($750) or nearly impossible to find 2nd hand.
