If the top is really bad you could use VHT Vinyl dye - Autobarn stocks it - I have used it on a blue roof (comes in a range of colours) - one can was enough - result was an improvement - but still not like new. Having said that you have to clean the roof well before you apply the dye (mild soap and water and a lot of scrubbing) - which may get the result you want anyway - then use 303 to protect it.

Sliq, have you seen my top after a fresh squirt of autoglym? Comes out lookin fantastic. Requires a squirt every 2-3 weeks to keep it up and let it soak it without rain for a day or two.

Hey jdm-mk,

did you end up trying the restorer?

I've just done my (vinyl) top - which was looking very old and uncared for.

Cleaned with a soft brush and good car shampoo - 100% better.
Finished with Autoglym vinyl and rubber cleaner/polish - 500% better.

Liberal amounts were applied - the roof is a thirsty beast - let dry and then buffed off with microfibre.

However - it rained a couple of days later, the roof still looks fine but the excess polish washed onto the paint leaving a slightly oily smear. Just a warning. :)

hey, iv been using 303 aero protectant for my tyres interior and vinal soft top for ages and it makes the car look amazing :D i also have two chamis i use when drying the car after washing as the 303 can leave an oily residue on the duco, its also good to dry your roof asap if its wet as you'l have to wash it more often (i read this in my owners manual).

Never use the cheap sh*t like armorol on your roof as it contains silicon which never breaks down (especialy on you tyres as you'll lose grip in the wet)

I use "cheap sh*t" Armourall on the black vinyl of the softtop. Works beautifully. Does the tyres too. No problem with grip.
