Looks good, you have done a nice finish. There is actually a video on you tube for people wanting to cover there parts in carbon fibre. The only problem is you are actually making the parts heavier.

yes. carbon fibre parts were originally created to reduce weight. adding a layer of carbon fibre to the standard part, thus giving it a "lightweight" appearance, whilst actually increasing weight, is kinda counter-intuitive and the ultimate expression of "RICE".

why wouldnt you just take a fiberglass mold of the sections and then make carbon pieces off that ?

What happened when you took off the standard steering wheel?? Did the air bag warning light come on or did it cancel itself out??

As a school kid I used to cover my text books in CF ook alike contact to help preserve them...
every ounce counts
