“I don’t want to see young hoons putting their lives or the lives of others at risk, just because they think their car looks better 15 centimetres closer to the ground.
“These hoons may think their car looks cool, but as far as I’m concerned anything more than a 5 centimetre change in a car’s suspension is dangerous and doesn’t belong on our roads."
Mr Daley said.
As can be seen by the above comments, they are doing this to target young "hoons" with stupidly low (or high) vehicles.
They are not going to target Tezza, or me, or JBT, or SPy, or any of us who are passing through NSW, or on holiday south of the border with vehicles that are sensibly (and legally in our home state) lowered.
It's impractical in so many respects. The Police aren't going to be bothered hassling anyone who is driving sensibly and within the road rules because their car might* be lower than standard. Sure, if you drive like a clown and they pull you over, they will no doubt have a very close look over the car, and maybe even fine you, but otherwise, they've got better things to do.
Hence,
in practical terms, as I am not within their demographic of people and cars to target, and don't live in NSW, I'm not the slightest bit concerned.
