NB8A Alarm Issue...

Postby Ando » Sun Jul 12, 2009 10:47 pm

NB8A brethren...
Anyone experience this issue when locking via the remote? Instead of the usual 2 beeps and corresponding hazard lights flash, I get that plus 3 more beeps straight after.

Before this, the alarm was 1 beep off and 2 beeps on. Am I right in assuming that it's some sort of error message??
Cheers,
Ando

Mine does that if you haven't closed something properly like a door, bonnet or boot.

My alarm is one beep on and two beeps off ...... never experienced the 3 beeps you describe. If I leave a door open etc, the alarm sounds

Mine is the same, if the doors are open check the switch under bonnet or in the boot.

Is yours the mazda factory alarm with the black remote with 3 blue buttons?
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

hi ando,

mine (mongoose alarm m80) beeps those 3 extra times WHEN the microwave sensor has been triggered, i.e. stick your hand in the window when the alarm is on..

it will then beep twice, and a chirp, upon disactivating the car alarm

to restart my alarm and get rid of the chirps or extra beeps, you start up the ignition and switch the car back off.

hope that helps.

MV

edited. thought about what i said earlier and it was wrong.. have edited it to fix it up.

Nope. One round button and one square button. Both red.

It started to happen around the same time the passenger door began to unlock late or not unlock at all. It still does it even if both doors unlock together though.

I recently found a disconnected microwave sensor behind the centre console just floating around...

So, if you stick you hand in nothing happens. Is the microwave thing good, or a pain in the ass?
Cheers,

that could be the problem.. the microwave sensor..

they are handy if you park your car with the top down.. if someone wants to reach in to pinch your radio or your spare change, or even remove something from the boot, then it will sound..

what brand alarm is it?
