What are 5 boot lids made of?

Hi folks, I know the bonnet is al, and thought the boot lid was too, but some doubt has been cast on the al boot lid theory. So, anyone know for certain? (I'm still trying to ditch this spoiler :roll:

)

feels like steel to me.

i have a spare one sitting in my garage at home if you want a closer look.

carbon one is a lot lighter.

Yeah not so worried about the weight. Reason I ask is, I'm considering unbolting the spoiler and getting the holes welded up and lid repainted...

I'd pay you a visit kula, but the drive is probably a bit too far

NA/NB is steel, NC is Al

Yup, only the bonnet on NA and NBs are aluminium.

its a steel material. I have holes in mine where a spoiler used to be attached but its been sealed with paint.

you may find removing the spoiler that the screws & holes are only part of the issue.
My spoiler was a Rod Millen spoiler but it was also attached with some serious double sided sticky tape. I have some pics somewhere but I removed paint while removeing parts of the tape.
In my case it didn't really matter as I was repainting the whole car anyway. I'm sure with a bit of patience you can remove it without damaging your paintwork.
