Calling all boffins...
Is there definitive way to replace the O.P. sender and feed the standard O.P. gauge accurate info? ie: actually moving!?!?

look up trackdogracing
they have the oil pressure kit for mx5's... i was informed by azntien that there's another gauge sender on elsewhere for much cheaper.

I replaced the gauge and sender unit with a used one from an NA6. I used the original NA8 gauge face so that everything on the dash still matched. It was all plug and play. The hardest part was removing the original pressure switch from the block.

I'm glad we don't have the MPH scale inside our speedo like the US have the KPH in theirs, and that "UNLEADED PETROL ONLY" warning. It makes the speedo very cluttered.

In my NA8 I have an active oil pressure gauge [as I have in my Pajero], but obviously my NB8B only has the on/off version.
I've always wondered, how do you read it anyway? I mean, it keeps moving depending on the engine load, so what is a normal reading? Or how do I know if my oil pressure is low?

i've done it:
viewtopic.php?f=55&t=29695&hilit=oil+pressure+sender
not sure about NBs, but the stock gauge in the late NA8s are heavily dampened so it won't move around much.
